Anne Breeden, pianist, grew up in a deeply musical family—her parents played in the San Francisco Symphony, her grandfather was a renowned jazz musician, and both brothers earned music degrees. She has performed across the U.S. and internationally, including in Italy, Germany, Japan, Finland, and Norway.
After graduate studies at the Eastman School of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music, Anne built a vibrant freelance career in Chicago, joining the part-time faculty at DePaul University. She collaborated with members of the Chicago Symphony, Chicago Opera Theatre, and The Metropolitan Opera. She has performed for dignitaries including Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld—thankfully not all at once.
After a shoulder injury forced a 5-year retirement from performing, Anne founded a long-running living room concert series, which developed into a nonprofit delivering custom concerts to underserved communities.
Now based in Denver, she has taught at Metropolitan State University and Colorado State University and maintains a thriving private studio. She has performed widely along Colorado’s Front Range and serves on the faculty of Orvieto Musica in central Italy.
A passionate advocate for intimate, mission-driven concerts, Anne now works with Art That Does Good, bringing music and art into homes and small venues to support local nonprofits. She lives in Littleton, CO with her husband, daughter, cat, and two surviving chickens.
Jun Steele, flutist, started her musical journey during high school with flutist Rachel Swinkin at the Community Music Center in San Francisco. She studied with Paul Renzi, Chie Takeuchi, and earned her BM with Linda Lukas at San Francisco State University. While pursuing her MM with Dr. Mary Possess at UMKC Conservatory as a scholarship recipient, life and loss drove her to switch majors. Currently, she finds tremendous fulfillment being a night-shift nurse with the best coworkers at UC Health Highlands Ranch Hospital. Balancing caring for others as a nurse while cultivating her artistic pursuits, Jun enjoys sharing the repertoire she loves and collaborating with dear friends. She is forever grateful for the privilege of studying with artists extraordinaire Brook Ferguson and Anne Breeden who help keep the music alive in her life!
Aside from music and nursing, she loves spending time with her family and friends, yoga, coffee, sweets, and naps. She lives with her darling husband in Highlands Ranch, CO.
